Red Dot Techniques Training Level 2
This one day course is for pistol owners who have have completed the Level 1 Red Dot Course. Shooters will be tasked with completing more advanced shooting skill drills designed to reinforce the importance of target focus with and emphasis on repeatable mechanics.
Class will begin in a classroom setting at 2845 County Road 233 in Florence TX 76527. Coffee and water will be provided, please bring any snacks or specialty drinks you may need or desire (no alcohol allowed before or during training). Lunch will be provided. A 1.5hr break will be taken to accommodate for travel to and from range.
- 8am start in classroom at 2845 County Road 233 in Florence TX 76527.
- Total class time is around 8-9 hours.
Range portion of training will be at the Ranch at Staccato’s new facility located at 1223 County Road 233 in Florence Texas 76527.
Dress for range should be comfortable clothing and weather specific. If it rains, we will still train so bring raingear if you require it, sunscreen and hats for hot sunny weather is recommended.
We will discuss range safety and rules, discuss the 1911/2011 platform, disassemble and assemble the 2011, discuss carrying options, dryfire and do static firearms training.

Required Student Provided Items:
- Ballistic eye protection
- Hearing protection
- Staccato 2011
- 3 magazines with mag carrier for at least one
- Holster
- 500 rounds of ammunition
- Any item needed for environmental conditions.
Your Instructors
Mike Benbow
Staccato’s Director of Training Mike Benbow recently retired from the United States Marshals Service as the Tactical Operations Commander for their Special Operations Group (SOG). Mike spent 25 years in the Marshals and 21 years in SOG. During his tenure as SOG Cadre, Mike was responsible for the shooting and entry programs as well as overseeing Tactical Operations. He participated in and lead missions across the United States and its territories as well as several overseas deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and other counties abroad.
Prior to his time in the US Marshals, Mike served as a uniformed Sheriff’s Deputy, a Narcotics Detective and a United States Border Patrol Agent.
Mike was instrumental in the adoption of the Staccato 2011 by SOG and has 20 years’ experience shooting, carrying and instructing with the 1911/2011 platform. Mike’s passion for all shooting disciplines carried throughout his career and continues today.
