Course Description:

The Handgun Mastery course uses our proven Scientific Shooting System to combine the science of performance with the best practical shooting concepts in the world. Beginner, intermediate and advanced shooters will realize immediate performance improvement as we unveil the core skills and principles of handgun marksmanship and reactive shooting to a unique level of detail. By building your shooting system, it is important to understand what it takes to fire an accurate shot and then apply the beliefs, principles, and techniques that contribute to a successful result. Together we will explore how to fire a shot in minimum time with maximum efficiency and certainty of a hit, using in-depth knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques required. Students will learn how to diagnose their own shooting, identify their mistakes and immediately make corrections by applying the Fire Control Triangle and the Reactive Shooting Cycle, which we also called the “algorithm of the shot”.

About TPC

The Tactical Performance Center, founded by the esteemed Ron Avery, a legendary figure in the firearms training industry, and Ken Nelson, the innovative mind behind the PractiScore project (a widely used tablet-based scoring system in practical shooting) has always stood at the forefront of advanced firearms training. Ron Avery, with his rich background as a police officer and martial artist, infused a depth of knowledge and experience into the training programs. Internationally acclaimed as a pioneering researcher, world-class firearms instructor, and shooter, Ron’s methodologies have been embraced by U.S. Special Forces, countless agencies, and thousands of individuals both in the U.S. and abroad.
Shooting is both an art and a science. It uses the laws of physics, motor learning and behavior, and human psychology. Defensive shooting, in addition to the above, utilizes the laws of armed conflicts learned over many years.
TPC uses a scientific shooting system that is organized and based on principles instead of techniques. The totality of the reactive shooting training system demonstrates that all the pieces, both mental and physical, fit in to create a complete synergy.
