Disassembly
- Ensure the pistol is pointed in a safe direction.
- Rack the slide to the rear and visually inspect the chamber and magazine well to make sure the pistol's empty.
- Remove the slide stop to separate the top end from the lower.
- Pull the slide back to line up to take down notch on the slide with the slide stop knuckle.
- Push down on the slide stop lever to ensure its lowered down all the way against your frame, and then push on the slide stop pin on the opposite side of your pistol using your finger or a small tool to remove the slide stop.
- Gently pull the slide forward and off of the frame.
- Remove the guide rod by pulling the flange forward slightly and then down off of the barrel.
- Remove the guide rod and the reverse plug out of the back of the slide.
- Slide the link forward and pull the barrel out from the muzzle end of your slide.
- Use your brush attachment or a rag or a paper towel to clean away debris from the slide rails, frame surfaces and feed ramp.
- Use your bore brush to clean the bore of your barrel, utilizing the memory flex cable and pulling it from breech to muzzle.
- Repeat this process as needed.
- Apply a small amount of CLP to your bore mop, and oil the bore of your barrel.
- Using a clean patch, wipe away excess oil from the inside of your barrel.
- Apply a few drops of lubricant to your slide rails and barrel contact points.
Re-Assembly
- Ensure the link is flipped forward towards the muzzle and reinstall the barrel.
- Insert the recoil system into the spring tunnel of your slide and align it against the barrel lugs.
- Line up the slide rails to the corresponding rails on your frame and reinstall the slide. NOTE: Be sure that the guide rod flange is pushed up all the way against the barrel and not kicking out towards the frame, and that the barrel is not rotated to either side, because this could prevent the top end from fully sliding on to the lower.
- Look for the link through the slide stop hole in your frame. The pin on your slide stop must insert through the hole of your link in order to function properly.
- If the link hole is not lined up, simply use a small tool to drop it into place.
- Insert your slide stop into the frame through the link hole and rest it gently against your frame.
- Pull the slide back to line up your takedown notch with the slide stop knuckle and fully seat the slide stop into your frame.
- Rack the slide to check for proper function.
